Punjab ministers invite Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib, highlighting grand celebrations and spiritual events.
Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal met with Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru to officially invite him to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, which will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib next month.
Both Ministers told the Chief Minister about the sequence of religious ceremonies being held to honor the great sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who is known as the “Hind Di Chadar.” They also asked him to take part in the final memorial celebrations at Sri Anandpur Sahib and told him about the events that were being organized all throughout the country to celebrate the momentous event.
The Cabinet Ministers talked about the detailed plans for the celebrations. They said that the Ardaas would start at Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi on October 25 and that the Kirtan Darbar would follow at Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib the same evening. From November 1 to 18, the state government will organize Light and Sound exhibitions in all 23 districts that show Guru Sahib’s life and teachings. There will also be Kirtan Darbars and devotional meetings at 130 “Charan Chhoh” places that are connected to Guru Sahib’s journeys.
They further said that four Nagar Kirtans will start from different places, including Srinagar (in Jammu and Kashmir), Gurdaspur, Faridkot, and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (in Punjab). All of these Nagar Kirtans will meet in Sri Anandpur Sahib on the evening of November 22. The main events will happen from November 23 to 25, and there will be a “Chakk Nanki” Tent City built up to hold more than 11,000 devotees per day. There will be a Sri Akhand Path Sahib, a Sarb Dharam Sammelan, a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha at Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial, a drone display about the life of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, and a Kirtan Darbar by famous Raagis.
The Cabinet Ministers also told the Chief Minister of Karnataka that the spiritual activities will be accompanied by a number of social and welfare programs, such as blood donation camps, an organ donation drive, and a huge plantation effort that will plant 3.50 lakh saplings.
CM Siddaramaiah thanked CM Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Punjab Government for putting on such a huge event to honor Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He said that his teachings continue to inspire people across the country with their message of equality, tolerance, and self-sacrifice. He promised to fully support and help make the event a success.
