Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the Health Secretary to take prompt action to ensure that healthcare services in Chaukhutia meet public expectations.

In this regard, the Chief Minister has said that the Chaukhutia Community Health Centre (CHC) will be turned into a 300-bed Sub-District Hospital (SDH). The administration is now working on issuing the official order at the administrative level.

An official statement added, “The government is committed to providing high-quality health services, with a focus on meeting the aspirations of the people.”

The Chaukhutia CHC is currently a 30-bed hospital with an outpatient department (OPD) that sees 150 to 200 patients per day, according to the Director General of Medical Health. The lady doctor also delivers 30 to 35 babies every month. There are currently seven doctors at the clinic, three of them are women and four of whom are men. One of them is a dental surgeon.

He further said that a team of specialists, including a doctor, a gynecologist, and a pediatrician, is being sent from Almora District Hospital and Ranikhet Sub-District Hospital three days a week to give specialized treatments. These experts work at the Chaukhutia CHC on a daily basis.

The hospital has everything it needs, such an X-ray machine, an ultrasound machine, a dental chair, and an ambulance service that works 108 hours a day.

He further said that Chandan Diagnostic does about 70 to 80 diagnostic tests every day for free, with the help of the government.
