Delhi prepares for Chhath Puja 2025 with over 200 ghats showcasing Purvanchal culture. Ghats are being upgraded with facilities and tight security for smooth, peaceful worship.

This year, Delhi’s Chhath Puja celebrations will include a lot of activities to promote the folk culture and traditions of Purvanchal. After a high-level meeting, Kapil Mishra, the Minister of Art, Culture, Language, and Tourism, said that artists from Purvanchal have been asked to perform folk songs, dances, and other cultural events at more than 200 places in the city.

The government plans to beautify the ghats with big welcoming gates, statues of Chhathi Maiya and Surya Bhagwan, and pretty lights. In addition, “Model Chhath Ghats” will be built in certain important places to set a high standard for both public facilities and decorations. More than 1,000 places in Delhi will celebrate the occasion.

A single-window clearance system has been set up for all the essential clearances and NOCs, like the ones used for other big festivals like the Kanwar Yatra, Ganeshotsav, and Durga Puja. This would make planning easier. Every municipal corporation zone will have a nodal person in charge of making sure everything goes well. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been told to send enough sanitation staff to make sure that all the ghats are cleaned on a regular basis.

After a long time, Chhath Puja celebrations will once again take place at the Yamuna ghats. Along with this, there will be big celebrations at four important places: Dwarka, Haathi Ghat, Pitampura, and Sonia Vihar.
