UP CM Yogi Adityanath unveils Urban Redevelopment Policy to modernize cities with better infrastructure, public amenities, green standards, and job protection.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, unveiled plans for a comprehensive Urban Redevelopment Policy that will aim to fully revitalize cities across the state.

The new program will focus on changing outdated, run-down, and underutilized regions into ones with contemporary urban infrastructure, lots of public facilities, and a healthy environment. “We need to make sure that our cities are safe, clean, and well-organized, and that the public’s interests come first so that no property or livelihood is harmed. The strategy would put land rearrangement, encouraging private investment, a clear rehabilitation framework, and protecting the jobs of families affected by the policy first. Mr. Adityanath remarked at a meeting of the Housing Department that “the principle of public interest first should guide actions in every project, making sure that no one’s property or livelihood is harmed.”

Mr. Adityanath appealed on cities to put a lot of effort into protecting their historical and cultural legacy. “Different plans should be made for old markets, government housing complexes, industrial areas, and settlements that aren’t legal. He remarked, “Redeveloping old government housing, old housing societies, and areas that have been affected by encroachment is a top priority.”

The CM said that the text of the new policy should be finished based on input from public representatives, municipal entities, and regular people, and it should be given to the Cabinet for approval right away.
