Haryana raises senior citizen pension by ₹500 to ₹3,500 from Nov 1, 2025, as a Diwali gift; previous hikes and central govt’s 3% DA increase also noted.

An increase in the senior age pension in Haryana Diwali 2025:  Effective November 1, the pension for senior citizens in Haryana has been increased by Rs 500. Determine the current amount of pension that the elderly will receive.

Diwali 2025: Haryana Old Age Pension Increase: The elderly will also experience joy during this year’s Diwali. In reality, their pensions will also be increasing beginning next month. The Haryana government has announced a ₹500 increase in the old-age pension as a Diwali present to the elderly. This pension increase will be implemented on November 1st.

Currently, what is the amount of pension they will receive?

This decision was endorsed by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during a cabinet meeting today. He declared that senior citizens will receive a pension of ₹3500, as opposed to ₹3000, effective November 1st. It is important to mention that the previous increase was from ₹2700 to ₹3000 on January 1, 2024. At this cabinet meeting, numerous other decisions were made, such as modifications to the recruitment regulations for the Haryana Police. Currently, 50% of the Sub-Inspector (Male) positions will be filled through promotion, as opposed to direct recruitment. Additionally, the validity of the Common Eligibility Test (CET) score for recruitment to Group-C and Group-D positions has been extended by three years.

Back in 2014, the pension was just ₹1,000.

The pension for the elderly was ₹1,000 when the BJP administration in Haryana assumed power in 2014. Subsequently, it rose to ₹1,200 in 2015 and ₹1,600 in November 2016. In 2020, the pension was subsequently raised to ₹2,250. It was raised to ₹2,500 in April 2021, ₹2,750 in April 2023, and ₹3,000 in April 2024.

The Central Government also provided a Diwali Bonus.

The DA for central employees and pensioners was increased by 3 percent, bringing it from 55 percent to 58 percent, even before the Haryana government’s Diwali incentive. Effective July 1, 2025, this elevated DA will be implemented.
