Delhi weather during Dussehra: IMD forecasts light to moderate rain from Sept 30 to Oct 5, with overcast skies and possible drizzle on October 1 morning.

Delhi, New Delhi:  Festive-goers, take note! Be careful if you intend to attend Durga Puja pandals for festivities. For the next four to five days, the IMD has forecast severe rains for Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad.

Light to moderate rainfall is anticipated from September 30 to October 5, which will signal the end of the protracted dry period, according to the IMD rain alert for Delhi-NCR. The sky will be overcast on October 1st, with a light drizzle or rain in the morning. Additionally, there will be light rain during the day and mostly gloomy skies from October 2–3.

Delhi weather : Reports of waterlogging and traffic congestion following intense rainfall

Heavy rain battered the nation’s capital Tuesday, causing traffic bottlenecks and waterlogging in several regions earlier in the day. Following a significant downpour, commuters were seen wading through knee-deep rainwaters in images posted on social media.

Numerous areas, including Delhi’s Zakhira underpass, reported traffic problems. The city’s commuters were greatly inconvenienced by the underpass’s extreme waterlogging.

There is a lot of traffic in these places.

Severe traffic congestion was also seen in other areas of south Delhi, such as the crowded Mahatma Gandhi Road, NH-48, and Captain Gaur Marg from Lajpat Nagar.

Heavy rains caused traffic to move slowly in a number of spots around Pitampura’s Netaji Subhash Place as well as a sizable portion of the Outer Ring Road.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said that Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) was 114 at 8 am, falling into the “moderate” category. Commuters were warned by the traffic police to avoid flooded areas and to plan their routes appropriately.
