Gurugram Municipal Corporation to spend ₹4.85 crore on anti-smog guns. 16 proposals approved, including road, sewage, water projects, and sanitation upgrades.
The Gurugram Municipal Corporation approved a broad range of development projects on Friday, including the acquisition of anti-smog guns to fight air pollution in Cyber City. At a meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee, 16 proposals were approved, including new roads, sewer lines, and community amenities.
Gurugram Will Install Anti-Smog Weapons In an important step to combat smog, particularly that produced by stubble burning, the corporation authorized a budget of Rs 4.85 crore to buy sprinkler-cum-anti-smog gun units that are placed on trucks. The money will be obtained through a grant from the Pollution Control Board.
The procurement of two 16-tonne capacity recycle super sucker machines, which would cost about Rs 10 crore including operation and maintenance, was also decided upon in order to further improve cleanliness.

Approved Major Infrastructure Upgrades Mayor Rajrani Malhotra presided over the meeting, which approved a number of citywide infrastructure projects. Important approvals consist of:
Highways:
- To make the Bajghera periphery road a model road, Rs 5.08 crore will be needed.
- A 33-foot-wide road connecting Baliyawas village and Heritage School will cost Rs 3.29 crore.
- A new road in Mayfield Garden will cost Rs 2.79 crore.
- Water and Sewer Pipes:
- The ancient 900 mm sewer line from the gas pump to Dhanwapur Chowk will be strengthened for Rs 8.02 crore.
- The cost of installing a water pipeline and interlocking tiles from Sohna Road to Naya Gaon is Rs 5.68 crore.
- Significant funding was also authorized for the installation of new water and wastewater lines in Wards 15 and 56, Wazirabad, South City-2, and Mianwali Colony.
- Fresh Community Amenities
- Additionally, the committee authorized the building of new community welfare and resident facilities:
- At a cost of Rs 6 crore, a cow shelter (gaushala) will be constructed in Baliyawas village.
- The estimated cost of building a community center in Nathupur village is Rs 9.45 crore.
