Delhi CM Rekha Gupta laid the foundation for a ₹420 crore multi-level electric bus depot in Hari Nagar under Seva Pakhwada-2025, with capacity for 400 buses.

On Monday, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta lay the cornerstone for a brand-new, multi-story electric bus depot in Hari Nagar, West Delhi. The Rs 420 crore project, which is a component of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada-2025 festivities, will house about 400 e-buses and is being built on the site of the former depot.

According to the CM, the project demonstrates the government’s dedication to creating a sustainable, reasonably priced, and clean public transportation system. Gupta stated, “This project is not just about a depot, but a cornerstone for a green and clean Delhi.” In order to improve last-mile connectivity, the government plans to treble the number of DTC buses from 3,000 to 6,000 by the following year.

Spread across 26,257 square feet, the depot will house a DTC office, a staff dormitory, a 500-kW rooftop solar power plant, a 170 KLD sewage treatment plant, and a rainwater harvesting system. During construction, eco-friendly practices and adequate ventilation will be guaranteed.

The facility’s original design was created during the previous AAP administration, but it was never implemented. The “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” campaign was launched at AIIMS Delhi on the sixth day of Seva Pakhwada, which also included the foundation-laying.

Power Minister Ashish Sood and Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh attended the function. In honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, the two-week-long Seva Pakhwada will run through October 2.
