Karnail Singh highlighted the importance of Navratri for the Hindu community in Delhi-NCR, citing the need to uphold social peace and respect religious sensibilities.

Delhi BJP MLA Karnail Singh has called on major food chains, especially international ones, to refrain from serving non-vegetarian cuisine during the forthcoming Navratri celebration.

The MLA for Shakoor Basti wrote to the food establishments on Friday, requesting that they refrain from serving non-vegetarian fare during the September 22–October 2 Navratri season.

“By honoring people’s religious feelings, this action is essential to preserving social harmony,” Singh, who also leads the Delhi BJP’s temple cell, stated.

The MLA stated that the majority of people in Delhi-NCR have strong religious and cultural ties to Navratri, and he hoped the food chains will honor their religious customs by refraining from offering non-vegetarian cuisine at their establishments during the festival.

For Hindus, the nine days of Navratri in the winter are auspicious, during which they worship various forms of Durga by fasting and performing other rituals.
