Kolkata : PM Narendra Modi opened the three-day Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) on Monday, September 15, 2025,at the Indian Army’s Eastern Command headquarters in Kolkata, at Vijay Durg, the former Fort William. The important meeting, the first of its kind since Operation Sindoor, was also attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The nation’s senior military and civic leaders gather at the conference, which serves as the military’s premier brainstorming venue, to share ideas at the conceptual and strategic levels.

According to a defense official, Operation Sindoor was designed as a targeted and punishing campaign to destroy the terror infrastructure inside Pakistan and across the Line of Control. It demonstrated a well-coordinated, tri-services reaction that embodied accuracy, professionalism, and purpose. The conference also included participation from the three heads of the Indian armed forces, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

PM Narendra Modi Joins Top Military and Civil Leaders at 16th CCC in Bengal, Focus on Reforms, Readiness, and Strategic Integration

Every two years, the nation’s senior military and civil leaders gather at the CCC, the armed services’ premier brainstorming forum, to share ideas and talk about strategic, institutional, and operational priorities. Officers of all ranks participate in interactive sessions.

The 16th edition of the meeting this year will concentrate on military reforms, change, and operational readiness. “Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future” is the topic. The defense source continued, “The conference’s focus reflects the armed forces’ commitment to deeper integration, institutional reforms, and technological modernization, while maintaining a high level of multi-domain operational readiness.”

This is Mr. Narendra Modi  second trip to Bengal in as many months and his fourth in the last five months.

The Prime Minister will depart Kolkata in the afternoon for Purnea, Bihar, after arriving from Assam on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

After spending the night at the Raj Bhavan, he arrived at Vijay Durg at approximately 9.30 a.m.

In 2023, the most recent CCC took place in Bhopal.
