AAP Leadership Steps Forward for Punjab Flood Relief
In a strong humanitarian gesture, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with his Cabinet colleagues and all Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, announced that they will donate their one month’s salary to support flood relief efforts across the state.
The Chief Minister made the announcement on Wednesday, highlighting the devastating impact of recent floods in Punjab. He stressed that this is a time for solidarity and collective responsibility as thousands of families continue to face hardship.
“Punjab has suffered significant losses due to nature’s fury,” Mann said. “At this moment, all Punjabis must stand together. By donating one month’s salary, we are contributing to help our brothers and sisters affected by floods. The state government remains fully committed to supporting the people during this crisis.”
Floods Cause Extensive Losses Across Punjab
Several districts in Punjab have been battered by heavy rains and overflowing rivers in recent weeks. Villages have been submerged, farmland destroyed, and many families displaced from their homes. The floods have severely impacted agriculture, which is the backbone of the state’s economy.

State Government’s Relief Commitment
Chief Minister Mann assured that the government has prioritized flood relief in its agenda. He pointed out that the administration is mobilizing resources to provide compensation, rehabilitation, and long-term solutions to minimize future damage.
Officials said damage assessment reports are being prepared to estimate financial requirements. Relief packages are expected to include compensation for farmers, reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, and assistance for those who lost their homes.
