Lightning strikes kill seven people in Madhya Pradesh.

The IMD has issued a warning of continued thunderstorms with lightning in Madhya Pradesh, citing recent lightning strikes that have resulted in several fatalities and injuries across the state.

BHOPAL: Seven people have been killed by lightning strikes in Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours, including a nine-year-old kid, as the state continues to experience intermittent showers.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for thunderstorms and lightning in numerous parts of the state over the next 24 hours.

According to police reports, two ladies, Gura Bai (36) and Geeta Bai (35), were struck by lightning in Bangaria-Chakk village, Sadora region, Ashok Nagar district on Thursday. Three more people were hurt as a result of the lightning strike and have been hospitalized.

Ravindar Raikwar, a Class 3 youngster in the Chhatarpur district, was killed by lightning while playing on a school ground in the Gadimalhra region. Lakhan Kushwaha, a farmer, died in Chhatarpur’s Maharajpur region.

In addition, a woman and a man in their twenties were murdered by lightning in the Bhitarwar neighborhood of Gwalior. A 40-year-old farmer was killed in the Ajaygarh area of Panna district, and lightning struck three goats as well.

Divya Surendran, forecaster at the IMD Bhopal Centre, has indicated that thunderstorms with rainfall and lightning are predicted in various parts of Madhya Pradesh over the next 24 hours.
