Nagpur Gang Tensions Soar After Mafia King’s Wife Dies in Lover’s Arms
Mafia King’s Wife Dies in Lover’s Arms in Nagpur, Sparks Gang War Across City
Nagpur — A secret affair within one of Nagpur’s most feared underworld syndicates has triggered a violent storm after the wife of a notorious mafia king died in the arms of her alleged lover, Arshad Topi, following a road accident. The woman, 29, sustained fatal injuries while riding pillion with Topi, prompting a manhunt by over 40 armed members of the Ippa gang, who are now hunting for the “traitor.”
A Tragic Accident Sparks Underworld Chaos
The incident unfolded on Thursday evening near Suradevi, behind the Koradi Mata temple, when Topi and the woman were on a two-wheeler that collided with a JCB machine in a remote area. Topi suffered minor injuries, but the woman was critically wounded.
She was initially denied treatment at two private hospitals. Finally, Topi hired a private ambulance to rush her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Nagpur, where she succumbed to her injuries early Friday morning.
CCTV Footage Confirms Presence of Lover
Security footage from one of the private hospitals confirmed Topi was with the woman post-accident, further fueling anger among gang members. The deceased woman had reportedly been in a secret relationship with Topi, defying direct orders from the gang leadership to end the affair.
According to police sources, the woman had previously been warned to stay away from Topi, considered a rising but controversial figure in the gang. The incident is now being seen as a violation of gang protocol, sparking suspicions of foul play.
40 Gang Members Hunt for Topi Across Nagpur
Soon after the woman’s death, members of the Ippa gang launched a citywide search to avenge the betrayal, spreading out across Nagpur and Kamptee. Intelligence reports suggest that the mafia king activated a “hotline” to allied gangs, seeking assistance to locate and eliminate Topi.
An underworld informant tipped off police about the escalating threat, prompting authorities to issue alerts to police stations across Nagpur.
Topi Seeks Police Protection Amid Threats
Fearing for his life, Arshad Topi approached Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam in Pardi on Friday, requesting protection. While Topi expressed fear of being killed by his own gang, he was reluctant to register a formal FIR.
“He came in seeking security but didn’t want to file a complaint,” said DCP Kadam. “We took his statement and referred the matter to Koradi police station.”
Police Step In to Prevent Bloodshed
Recognizing the high risk of retaliation, DCP Kadam and Zonal DCP Rahul Madane coordinated a pre-emptive response. Officers were directed to issue strict warnings to known gang operatives, discouraging any retaliatory violence.
“Preliminary investigation shows it was an accident. There’s no evidence that the incident was pre-planned or intentional,” said DCP Kadam.
Though Topi left the police station later that evening believing the immediate threat had subsided, the situation remains volatile. Police teams from Koradi, Tehsil, and the crime branch are monitoring high-risk areas in real-time.
Public Safety and Legal Complications
Authorities fear that continued infighting within the Ippa gang could lead to public casualties, as violent underworld factions often operate in densely populated neighborhoods.
Legal experts suggest Topi could still be booked under various provisions if evidence emerges of him breaching any public order laws or gang-related restrictions.
