Beijing: Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has quietly launched its new budget 5G device, the Vivo Y60, in China. The smartphone joins the company’s Y-series lineup and focuses on long battery life and smooth everyday performance.
The launch took place without a major event, shortly after the introduction of the Vivo Y600 Pro. The new model is aimed at users seeking an affordable 5G smartphone with balanced specifications for daily use.
Pricing and variants
The Vivo Y60 comes in three storage configurations. The base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at CNY 1,799 (approximately ₹25,000). The 6GB + 256GB model costs CNY 1,999 (around ₹28,000), while the top-end version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 2,299 (approximately ₹32,000).
The smartphone is available in three colour options: Lucky Purple, Obsidian Black, and Shanhaiqing.
Display and design
The device features a 6.74-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling and improved visual performance. The screen supports up to 16.7 million colours and comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio, making it suitable for media consumption and gaming.
Performance and software
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset built on a 4nm process. It is paired with an Adreno 613 GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The device runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, offering the latest software experience in Vivo’s ecosystem.
Camera setup
In terms of optics, the Vivo Y60 features a simple camera setup with a 13-megapixel rear sensor with autofocus and support for up to 10x digital zoom. On the front, it includes a 5-megapixel selfie camera for video calls and basic photography.
Battery and durability
One of the key highlights of the smartphone is its large 6,500mAh battery, designed to deliver extended usage on a single charge. However, the device supports only 15W wired charging, which may result in slower charging times.
The smartphone also comes with an IP65 rating, offering protection against dust and light water splashes.
