Samsung has paused the One UI 8 Android 16 update for the Galaxy S22 series in Europe and parts of Asia due to performance problems.

The deployment of One UI 8 Android 16 for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series has unexpectedly stopped. Last week, European and some Asian consumers started getting the long-awaited upgrade for their Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. But now we hear that the corporation has put the upgrade on hold, at least for now, because it wasn’t working well.
One UI 8 Rollout Stopped

Some X (previously Twitter) customers seem to have found that Samsung’s recent firmware updates for One UI 8, S908EXXUCGYIF and S908BXXUIGYI7, are being rolled back to older versions of One UI. At the same time, Samsung is also rolling back its builds on its update servers. This reversion stops the over-the-air (OTA) upgrade for all Galaxy S22 units for now.

People are unhappy with the battery life and performance.

A few people said that their batteries were dying, their devices were slow, and they were getting random lag not long after they updated. That being said, some people say their gadgets work perfectly, so the problem could not be as common as it seems.

Samsung has not yet released an official statement explaining why the sudden end happened. But the corporation may have found a possible glitch or compatibility issue, so it stopped the pause to make the whole system more stable.
So far, there have been no major risks.

No one has said that installing One UI 8 has broken their device or caused them to lose data. If you haven’t updated yet or are having problems with Wi-Fi or battery life after installing One UI 8, Samsung should offer a hotfix update soon after.

The Galaxy S22 Series’ Last Big Update
