Realme GT 8 Pro debuts in China with a modular camera island, Ricoh-tuned 50MP lens, 200MP zoom, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, and 144Hz QHD+ display.
One of Realme’s boldest smartphone designs to date, the Realme GT 8 Pro , has been formally released in China. The 50-megapixel primary Ricoh-tuned camera is the main attraction, but what truly sets this flagship apart is its fully customizable camera island, which can be swapped out for different designs.
Users may now change the look of their phone’s rear camera module according to Realme’s new design philosophy. The modular camera island may be readily removed and swiftly replaced thanks to the two Torx screws and magnetic guides that secure it in place. Realme plans to provide a number of interchangeable modules—including square, round, and even robotic-inspired versions—through its official retail locations. As part of an open creative community challenge, the company has teamed up with MakerWorld to provide a 3D model file (.3mf) and encourage people to create and share their own ideas in order to enhance the user experience.

A new partnership with Ricoh is responsible for the GT 8 Pro’s triple rear cameras. The 50-megapixel primary sensor (1/1.56-inch, f/1.8) supports five distinctive color tones: Monochrome, Standard, High-contrast B&W, Negative, and Positive. It also supports Ricoh GR’s renowned lens lengths of 28 mm and 40 mm. An ultra wide-angle camera with a field of view of 116 degrees and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 12x lossless zoom are included.
In addition to up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Extreme Edition chipset powers the Realme GT 8 Pro. Additionally, Realme’s in-house R1 graphics chip is included in the phone to improve graphics quality and game frame rate. Despite having a robust 7,000mAh battery, the phone is incredibly thin at 8.2mm and supports 50W wireless and 120W cable charging.
With a refresh rate of 144 Hz, the 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen can achieve a stunning 4,000 nits of localized brightness at its best. To further protect against dust and water, the phone is rated IP66, IP68, and IP69.

The Realme GT 8 Pro’s 12GB/256GB model costs CNY 3,999 (about Rs 49,400), while the 16GB/1TB model, which is the most expensive, costs CNY 5,199 (around Rs 64,200). China is currently accepting pre-orders, and information regarding its India launch will soon be available.
