New Delhi: The Realme 16 5G has been officially launched in India, offering a balanced mix of durability, battery life, and everyday usability. In a market where smartphone prices continue to rise, the Realme 16 5G stands out by focusing on practical features rather than just raw performance upgrades.

The Realme 16 5G is priced at ₹31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, ₹33,999 for the 8GB + 256GB version, and ₹36,999 for the top-end 12GB + 256GB model. The smartphone will go on sale from April 6 via Flipkart and Realme’s official website, with pre-orders already open.

Focus on Design and Durability

One of the key highlights of the Realme 16 5G is its slimmer and lighter design. The device features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display and weighs just 183g, making it easier to handle compared to its predecessor. It also comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, ensuring improved resistance against water and dust, along with dual stereo speakers for enhanced audio experience.

Performance and Battery

The Realme 16 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset and comes with UFS 2.2 storage. While it may not match the higher-end specs of the previous model, it retains the massive 7,000mAh battery, which remains one of its biggest strengths. The phone supports 60W fast charging, ensuring long-lasting performance for daily use.

Camera and Features

In terms of optics, the smartphone features a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera and a 50MP front camera. A unique “Selfie Mirror” feature has also been introduced, allowing users to frame selfies using the rear camera. However, the device misses out on optical image stabilisation and an ultrawide lens, which were available in the earlier version.

Software and User Experience

Running on Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0, the Realme 16 5G offers improved software longevity and smoother performance. The device is clearly designed for users who prioritise stability, durability, and battery life over cutting-edge specifications.

Should You Buy It?

The Realme 16 5G is a solid option for users looking for a reliable smartphone with excellent battery backup and a compact design. While it may not appeal to power users or gaming enthusiasts, it is well-suited for everyday usage and long-term durability.
