The upcoming OPPO Reno 16 series is generating strong buzz in the smartphone market, with new leaks suggesting a major shift in OPPO’s strategy. Instead of focusing only on larger displays and incremental upgrades, the company appears to be prioritizing compact design, camera performance, battery life, and long-term software support.
According to reports from 91Mobiles, the OPPO Reno 16 lineup will include three models — Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro, and Reno 16 FS. The series is expected to debut globally soon, with an India launch likely in July 2025.

It may feature a 6.32-inch LTPS AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Despite powerful hardware, the device is expected to remain lightweight at around 188g, making it easier to handle than many large-screen smartphones.

Battery life could also see a major upgrade, with a large 6,700mAh battery supported by 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Additional features may include stereo speakers, NFC, aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and IP69 water and dust resistance.
Standard Reno 16 Offers Balanced Performance
The standard Reno 16 is expected to focus on delivering a balance between performance and affordability while retaining premium features.
It may come with a 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, but with a slightly lower 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor.
Camera setup remains strong, with a 50MP main sensor, 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and 50MP ultra-wide camera. A 50MP front camera is also expected.

OPPO Reno 16 FS Brings Premium Camera Features to Budget Segment
The Reno 16 FS variant could be the most surprising model in the lineup, bringing features usually reserved for higher-end devices into a more affordable category.
It is expected to feature a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset.
Camera setup could include a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. A 50MP selfie camera is also expected.
Battery capacity may reach 6,500mAh with 45W fast charging support. While it may use a plastic frame, it is still expected to include stereo speakers, NFC, and IP69-rated durability.
OPPO Reno 16 May Introduce Major Software Upgrade Policy
One of the biggest upgrades in the OPPO Reno 16 series could be its software support policy. All models are expected to launch with Android 16-based ColorOS 16.1.
Leaks suggest OPPO may offer up to five major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, making the OPPO Reno 16 lineup more future-ready than previous generations.
