BSNL SIM cards and mobile recharge services are now available to BSNL customers at the closest post office. Assam is the present location for this service.

New Delhi: A Memorandum of Understanding was inked on Wednesday between Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and the Department of Posts (DoP) to increase BSNL’s nationwide mobile connection. The postal department will sell BSNL SIM cards and provide mobile recharge services across the country through its extensive network of more than 1.65 lakh post offices, according to an official announcement.

A vital last-mile route for Bharat Sanchar Nigam to expand its footprint in both urban and rural regions will be provided by India Post’s vast reach, which reaches practically every hamlet and town.

To lower the cost and increase the accessibility of services :

For those who live in distant locations and frequently experience poor connectivity, the project seeks to increase the affordability and accessibility of BSNL’s telecom services. Through transforming post offices into service locations, the alliance aims to reduce the digital divide, offer rural families mobile services, and promote the larger objectives of financial inclusion, socioeconomic development, and Digital India.

Assam successfully executed a proof of concept, demonstrating the model’s scalability for a national rollout. Post offices will handle SIM sales and recharges as BSNL points of sale as a result of this agreement. SIM cards and training will be provided by BSNL, and the DoP will onboard new clients and handle transactions in a standardized and safe manner.

The BSNL Rs 199 plan :

A new package from Bharat Sanchar Nigam that offers 2GB of data per day for less than Rs 200 was just released. The business shared the information on its official X handle, highlighting how much less expensive their offering is than similar plans from private suppliers, which frequently cost almost twice as much. Additionally, the plan offers free SMS and unlimited calling.

The new Rs 199 plan from BSNL offers 60GB of data overall during its 30-day validity, with a 2GB daily cap. In addition to unlimited calling (with free nationwide roaming) and 100 free SMS per day, the plan is available in all telecom circles in the country.
