PM Modi Highlights Uttarakhand’s Winter Tourism and Adventure Sports in Mann Ki Baat

by Desk

Uttarakhand tourism gets national attention as PM Modi promotes winter travel, adventure activities, and wedding destinations in Mann Ki Baat.

According to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), PM Modi showcased the state’s enormous potential in winter tourism, adventure sports, and wedding locations during his “ Mann Ki Baat” speech on Sunday.

The prime minister made a nationwide appeal, encouraging people to travel to the Himalayan valleys in the winter and take in the area’s exceptional natural beauty. The Prime Minister remains the largest brand champion for Uttarakhand tourism, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked, thanking PM Modi for the recognition.

The Uttarakhand CMO claims that PM Modi particularly spoke on Uttarakhand for around two and a half minutes during the “Mann Ki Baat” program. He emphasized that a sizable number of tourists are drawn to the state for winter travel. Interest in well-known winter travel destinations including Auli, Munsiyari, Dayara, and Chopta is rising.

PM Modi also noted that the first high-altitude ultra-run marathon was held in Uttarakhand a few weeks ago, at an elevation of 14,500 feet close to Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh. 18 states and over 750 athletes competed. Although it was extremely cold when the 60-kilometer Adi Kailash Parikrama Run started at 5 a.m., the runners’ excitement was impressive. PM Modi pointed out that the number of visitors to Adi Kailash has grown from 2,000 three years ago to 30,000 now.

The Prime Minister praised Uttarakhand’s winter tourism and mentioned that the state will host the Uttarakhand Winter Games in the upcoming weeks, which will delight athletes, thrill seekers, and sports fans nationwide.

He emphasized the state’s quickly developing tourism infrastructure and mentioned that Uttarakhand has made significant efforts to enhance facilities and connections in order to increase winter travel.

Accordingly, a new homestay policy has also been implemented by the state government. Prime Minister Modi promoted Uttarakhand as a destination for weddings, saying that the state is becoming more and more popular for destination weddings due to its mist-covered mountains and golden winter sunshine, particularly along the banks of the Ganga, where these events have become much more common. He made an appeal to people all throughout the country to think about visiting the Himalayan regions in the winter, stating that the experiences they had there would last a lifetime.

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister claims that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the state has given tourism a new lease on life. Since his earlier visits to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Adi Kailash, and Jageshwar Dham, the number of pilgrims visiting these hallowed locations has increased significantly. His opening of the state’s winter tourism season from Mukhba village in Uttarkashi last year has boosted tourism throughout the Harsil Valley and given locals new sources of income.
The CMO claims that Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister, has been working hard to encourage winter travel to the state. Additionally, the government has been actively marketing Uttarakhand as a wedding destination and hosting winter pilgrimages since last year. The Dhami government’s actions have, in a sense, been positively endorsed, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising these efforts.

The Uttarakhand people are appreciative of PM Modi’s efforts to showcase the state’s potential and sustainable development on the international scene, according to Chief Minister Dhami. In line with the Prime Minister’s vision, he continued, the state administration is dedicated to developing Uttarakhand as a center of adventure, spiritual, and environmental tourism.
