CM Dhami greets Uttarakhand residents on Igas festival, emphasizing cultural heritage, prosperity, and folk traditions in Devbhoomi.
As Uttarakhand celebrated its traditional festival, “Igas,” on Saturday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami sent greetings and best wishes to the state’s citizens.
Budhi Diwali, another name for the Igas festival, honors the Goddess Nanda Devi and commemorates fertility, prosperity, and the harvest.
According to the Chief Minister’s video message, Devbhoomi’s actual identity lies in Uttarakhand’s traditional culture and traditions. He emphasized that a state’s folk culture and customs represent its essence, and Igas is a crucial component of Uttarakhand’s rich history. According to CM Dhami, “our local festivals and cultural heritage bring vibrancy and unity to social life.”
The chief minister made a plea to the state’s citizens to help preserve and advance their folk culture and customs. “The people of Uttarakhand are celebrating their traditional festival, Igas, with great enthusiasm, just as the entire nation is reviving its cultural heritage and pride,” he said.

People from Uttarakhand who live outside the state were urged by him to participate in the state’s development and celebrate Igas in their hometowns.

In Uttarakhand, the Igaas Bagwal festival is commonly observed eleven days after Diwali.
