Breaking: 4 dead, 50 missing after cloudburst triggers Flash Floods in Uttarakhand
A powerful cloud burst triggered devastating flash floods in Dharali Village near Harsil in Uttarkashi district Uttrakhand on Tuesday, leving around 4 people died and around 50 missing. The sudden downpour caused a surge of water that swept away homes, hotels and large parts of the remote villages rested in the hills.

Officials said that the destruction was massive, as water castled down from the upper reaches flooding the region and uprooting everything in its path. Heart wrenching visuals from the site show buildings collapsing and locals running for safety as the flash flood struck with little warning.
Rescue teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed. Helicopters and sniffer dogs are also being used in the operation. The focus remains on locating the missing and providing relief to survivors.
This incident has once again highlighted the fragile ecosystem of the Himalayan Region, which remains highly vulnerable to cloudburst, landslides and monsoon-triggered disasters.
Authorities have issued advisories urging people to avoid riversides and landslide-prone zones, as rains continue to lash parts of the state.
