CM Dhami says Uttarakhand completed Char Dham Yatra for 51 lakh pilgrims despite natural calamities and months of disruption.

Notwithstanding the inconveniences brought on by natural calamities, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Tuesday that the state has successfully completed the Char Dham Yatra for 51 lakh pilgrims this year.

After paying respects on the 350th anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom, Dhami told reporters that despite the challenging circumstances, authorities and stakeholders made sure the trip ran smoothly.

The Char Dham Yatra this year was fraught with difficulties. The yatra was interrupted for about three months, and natural calamities caused operations to be hampered and the state’s status to remain challenging for a long period. More than 5.1 million pilgrims participated in the Char Dham Yatra in spite of this, and every one of them had a good time, he stated.

The Chief Minister remarked that preparations for the winter pilgrimages are in progress and congratulated the officials engaged. He went on to say that the government is dedicated to planning better Char Dham Yatras in the future.

On the day of his martyrdom, Dhami honored Guru Tegh Bahadur in a post on X, characterizing him as a man of bravery and dedication who gave his life to defend religion and mankind.

Dhami stated in a different X message on the “Dhwajarohan Utsav” at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya that the saffron flag raised at the temple symbolizes Sanatan culture and the result of decades of conflict. He declared that the raising of the flag by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi signifies the start of “a new era of the nation’s faith and spiritual pride.”
