CM Yogi Adityanath highlights UP’s plan to transform youth talent into global skilled workforce; ITIs upgraded for industry-oriented training.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated  that Uttar Pradesh is making consistent progress toward establishing itself as a global center for specialized labor by leveraging the capabilities of its youthful population.

Speaking after inaugurating a newly established Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Narkataha in the Piprauli block of Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister stated that the state is actively working to convert its demographic advantage into economic prosperity through targeted skill development.

Uttar Pradesh is the youngest province in the country. Our youth possess exceptional talent, and there is an increasing demand for their abilities both domestically and globally. “Through the integration of training and employment, the state will establish itself as a global center for workforce development,” stated Adityanath.

He observed that approximately 55 to 60% of the state’s population falls within the working age category, referring to it as the state’s “greatest asset.” He further stated that the government is dedicated to aligning this youthful talent with industry-focused skill development to facilitate access to higher-paying employment opportunities.

Referring to the ongoing industrial initiatives within the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area, he stated that training provided by institutions such as NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology) has facilitated campus placements and generated local employment opportunities. He further stated that the recently established ITI will offer comparable industry-oriented training to improve employment opportunities for young people in the area.

The Chief Minister stated that more than 150 Industrial Training Institutes throughout the state are undergoing upgrades in partnership with Tata Technologies. Long-term courses encompass electric vehicles, advanced CNC machinery, industrial IoT, robotics, digital manufacturing, and 3D printing, whereas short-term programs include EV maintenance, water distribution, automatic welding, and automated manufacturing.

Highlighting international employment prospects, Yogi stated that adolescents dispatched from Uttar Pradesh to Israel are earning between ₹1.25 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh per month, inclusive of free accommodation and meals. He further stated that countries like Germany and Japan are also actively recruiting skilled workers from the government.
