Uttarakhand Mahotsav 2025: CM Yogi Adityanath praises folk music and arts for preserving India’s history and inspiring youth about their heritage.

Uttarakhand Mahotsav 2025 :  Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, claimed  that foreign historians purposefully left out India’s illustrious moments from its written history, claiming that folk music and art have preserved them for generations.

Speaking at the 10-day Uttarakhand Mahotsav-2025, which got underway here on November 9, the chief minister stated that these kinds of celebrations are essential to maintaining the nation’s folk customs and culture. “Many people in today’s fast-paced world may become estranged from their traditions and culture if such events are not celebrated,” he continued.

“I extend my gratitude to the organizers and extend a hearty welcome to Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Sharing the stage with him makes me very happy. The official festival calendar and “Uttarakhand Darpan Smarika” were also released by Yogi and Shekhawat.

“They have preserved our history,” the CM remarked, referring to folk music and folk arts as the real stewards of history. Foreign historians purposefully omitted many of India’s great moments so that our people would not be aware of their actual ancestry. However, those heroic stories are being told among us now thanks to folk songs and customs.

“We ought to be proud of our nation and “Devbhoomi.” “We need to preserve and give a platform to folk arts, traditions, cuisine, and culture,” he stated. Festivals like Uttarakhand Mahotsav are essential for reuniting young people with their heritage and advancing India’s civilizational ideals, both leaders emphasized.

“This festival is made even more glorious by the four ‘dhams’ of Uttarakhand,” he stated. “That Uttarakhand produced leaders like the late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna and the late Narayan Datt Tiwari, who made significant contributions to the state and the nation, is a matter of pride for Uttar Pradesh and the country,” Yogi stated. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Union minister, also gave a speech during the event.
