UP CM Yogi Adityanath announces renaming Mustafabad to Kabirdham to honor Sant Kabir Das and restore the village’s historical identity.

Lakhimpur Kheri :  Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared a plan to rename Mustafabad village as Kabirdham during his attendance at the Smriti Prakatyotsav Mela-2025 on Monday. He cited the hamlet’s historical and cultural significance in relation to Sant Kabir Das.

Speaking at the function, he said he had questioned the village’s current name after hearing from locals that Mustafabad does not have a Muslim population.

“I discovered that Mustafabad is the location of this settlement when I inquired about it. When I asked if there were any Muslims in the area, I was informed that there weren’t. I therefore reasoned that it should be called Kabirdham as there are no Muslims living here. The Chief Minister declared, “We will present a proposal to restore its true identity.”

Adityanath made fun of the Congress by claiming that earlier administrations had distorted cultural identities.

Prayagraj became Allahabad, Kabirdham became Mustafabad, and Ayodhya became Faizabad. In reference to his government’s previous attempts to rename Allahabad as Prayagraj and Faizabad as Ayodhya, he said, “When we came to power, we restored the real identities of these places.”

The planned name was intended to honor the poet-saint’s contributions to Indian culture and spirituality in the 15th century. The event, which took place in the Lakhimpur Kheri area, celebrated the legacy of Sant Kabir.

In order to address public complaints and concerns, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath previously hosted a “Janta Darshan” at his home in Lucknow.

CM Yogi Adityanath visited Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi earlier on Sunday. Later, Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and BJP National President Yogi Adityanath met formally.

“Today, a courtesy meeting was held with the Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi, and his guidance was received,” CM Yogi written in a post on X. Sincere gratitude for giving up your precious time.

“The honorable National President and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji was invited to a courtesy meeting in New Delhi today. Sincere gratitude for giving up your precious time!” he added.

In order to discuss the plans for the Garh Ganga Mela 2025, CM Yogi Adityanath also met with representatives of the public and district government. According to him, offensive music shouldn’t be played during cultural events.
