UP CM Yogi Adityanath launches initiatives for tribal welfare, housing, education, and cultural preservation, honoring Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s legacy.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh said his government is dedicated to providing social inclusion, education, and welfare for tribal communities in the state while maintaining their cultural identity and honoring their contributions to the country during an event honoring the legacy of tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Lucknow.
Higher levels of education have made it possible for native tribes to receive government programs more easily. The fact that every position designated for Scheduled Tribes was filled in the most recent hiring of 60,244 police officers is a glaring sign of increased involvement and educational progress. The development of every tribal community in Uttar Pradesh is a priority for our government. At the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Mr. Adityanath, Janjati Bhagidari Utsav, stated that mission-mode efforts are being made to include the Tharu, Musahar, Chero, Buksa, Saharia, Kol, and Gaur tribes under all welfare schemes, guaranteeing them access to housing, drinking water, electricity, pensions, ration cards, and Ayushman Bharat benefits.

The U.P. chief minister highlighted a number of initiatives that support tribal tribes. “Under the Dharti Aba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, fundamental amenities are being installed in all Scheduled Tribe villages throughout the state. He stated that 517 villages and 47 blocks in 26 districts have been identified for this project. These include 176 villages in Sonbhadra, 61 in Ballia, 36 in Lalitpur, 34 each in Deoria, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Kushinagar, and other villages throughout the state.
“Birsa Munda, at just 25 years of age, sacrificed his life for the nation with the slogan ‘Apna Desh, Apna Raj’ (Our country, our rule), inspiring generations to fight for self-governance,” Mr. Adityanath began, characterizing the year as historic for India as it marks 150 years since the birth of both Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Restoring the pride of the tribal community and safeguarding their legacy are priorities of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, the chief minister reaffirmed. “With empathy and inclusivity, the double-engine government is dedicated to restoring tribal pride, ensuring their security, conserving their cultural heritage, and achieving the aspirations of the tribal community,” Mr. Adityanath stated.
Attendees included Legislative Council member Subhash Yaduvansh, SC Commission Chairman Baijnath Rawat, Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun, and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh.
