Noida Authority issues RFP for City Logistics Plan to ease traffic and ensure timely goods delivery through a freight cooperation committee.

To lessen air pollution and traffic jams in the city’s industrial areas, the Noida Authority is creating a City Logistics Plan (CLP). A Freight Partnership Committee (FPC) will be established as part of the strategy, which will be based on the National Logistics Policy (NLP).

Government representatives, business leaders, logistics companies, and academic specialists will be on the committees, which will create specialized action plans for important industries including electronics, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce. To guarantee the prompt transportation of raw materials to markets and industrial facilities, as well as completed goods to customers, the new plan would govern logistics on main city routes.

The Authority has released a Request for Proposal (RFP), and proposals are being accepted through October 27, according to Additional CEO Sateesh Pal. The logistics strategy, which will involve mapping busy routes, warehouses, markets, and industrial zones, will be prepared by the chosen agency. The suggested actions will address better parking, better truck mobility, and improved loading and unloading infrastructure.

Due to Noida’s current lack of a systematic truck movement strategy, large trucks are accessing residential and business neighborhoods, which causes traffic congestion and other inconveniences. The CLP seeks to ensure efficient transport operations by limiting the movement of heavy vehicles during off-peak hours and allocating particular logistics zones.

Pal emphasized that the strategy is crucial to bolstering the city’s quickly expanding industrial and investment activities, which will help more than 10,000 industries and allow for smooth logistics for companies going forward.
