Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh — In a chilling incident that has shocked the state, a Class 12 student allegedly attacked his former teacher in broad daylight. The 17-year-old student reportedly used a sharp blade to slash the teacher’s lips on January 20. This brutal act occurred after the 25-year-old educator resisted his persistent advances and harassment.
The incident took place in the Kotwali area of Mainpuri. However, details only surfaced recently after a disturbing CCTV video of the attack went viral on social media. The footage shows the suspect dragging the woman and attacking her face when she tried to defend herself.
Persistent Harassment Led to Workplace Resignation
The victim’s brother filed a formal complaint detailing a long history of stalking. According to the police report, the student had been harassing the teacher for nearly three years. They both originally belonged to the same private school located on Agra Road.
Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the harassment did not stop. The teacher’s family even complained to the student’s mother during a parent-teacher meeting. While the student briefly paused his behavior, he soon resumed stalking her.
Distressed by his constant presence and indecent gestures, the teacher eventually resigned from her position. She moved to a different private institution, hoping to find safety. Unfortunately, the accused tracked her down and continued to ambush her during her daily commute.
Details of the Brutal January Assault
On the day of the incident, the teacher was traveling to tutor a student. The accused intercepted her near a residential neighborhood. Witnesses and CCTV footage suggest he tried to force her into a secluded lane.

When the teacher resisted his physical advances, the student allegedly pulled out a sharp, blade-like weapon. He then slashed both her upper and lower lips, causing deep and severe injuries. Bystanders began to gather as the teacher screamed for help. The suspect fled the scene immediately, reportedly threatening to kill her if she spoke out.
Local residents rushed the bleeding woman to the district hospital. Due to the severity of the facial trauma, doctors referred her to Saifai Medical College. However, the lack of a plastic surgeon there forced her family to move her to a private facility in Agra. Medical experts state she may face permanent facial disfigurement.
Police Investigation and Current Legal Status
The Mainpuri police registered a case on February 1 after the family prioritized her immediate medical treatment. The First Information Report (FIR) includes several sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
“We have registered a case based on the complaint. Our teams are conducting raids to trace the absconding minor,” stated Kotwali Station House Officer Fateh Bahadur Singh.
The police have charged the student under:
Section 74: Assault or criminal force against a woman to outrage her modesty.
Section 118(2): Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons.
Section 296: Obscene acts in public places.
Section 351(3): Criminal intimidation.
Authorities are currently using CCTV evidence to track the suspect’s movements. Since the accused is a minor, he will eventually be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board once apprehended.
