Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation starts construction of 13 Electric Vehicle charging stations, part of 20 citywide stations, opening by February at Rs 8.86/unit.
The construction of electric vehicle charging stations in the city has been initiated by the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation. Work has started on 13 of the 20 stations that will be constructed throughout the Municipal Corporation’s five zones. The remaining stations’ locations are being determined.
Govindpuram, Swarna Jayantipuram Road, the Diamond Railway Flyover Bridge, and the Vivekananda Nagar Railway Over Bridge in the Kavi Nagar Zone are among the places where the 13 charging stations are being constructed. Ret Mandi Nandgram Road, Raj Nagar Extension Main Road, Hindon Vihar Shamshan (cremation ground), Parking Sai Upvan, Patel Marg GT Road, and the area around the multi-level parking at the New Bus Adda are among the locations inside the City Zone.

The Vijay Nagar Zone includes the following locations: behind the Akbarpur Bahrampur Transfer Station, close to the Taj Highway Patwari Bhawan (building), close to Crossing Republik Hospital, and close to the Vijay Nagar Ghode Wale Mandir (temple).
Station locations in the Mohan Nagar and Vasundhara zones are currently being determined. The electric vehicle charging stations will be opened within the final week of February, according to Additional Municipal Commissioner Jang Bahadur Yadav. Customers would be able to pay Rs 8.86 per unit to charge their cars.
The Municipal Corporation is promoting e-vehicles as a step towards improving air quality,” said Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik. The 20 stations will have a combined total of 100 charging stations.
