CM Yogi Adityanath oversees Dev Deepawali 2025 preparations in Varanasi, ensuring safety, cultural events, and grand lamp decorations at the ghats.

Lucknow: During Thursday’s high-level meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed in detail the preparations for Dev Deepawali 2025, which is scheduled for Varanasi on November 5.

The Chief Minister described Dev Deepawali as a unique fusion of Ganga worship, Kashi’s age-old custom, and people’s faith, saying that lamps symbolize not only light but also religion, duty, and national spirit. The festival is a living symbol of India’s age-old legacy.

CM Yogi stressed that the celebration of Dev Deepawali in Kashi should be a worldwide reminder of India’s spiritual consciousness and cultural soul. He ordered that the Ganga Mahotsav (November 1–4) and Dev Deepawali (November 5) be prepared in a timely, well-organized, and excellent manner.

He further directed that the festival be a true representation of Kashi’s divine majesty, with dedication, discipline, and beauty embodied in the lighting, décor, Deepdan, cultural events, and public involvement at the ghats.

He emphasized the significance of traffic management, cleanliness, crowd control, and safety at the ghats during the Dev Deepawali festivities. To guarantee that devotees and guests have a seamless and secure experience, he urged efficient interdepartmental coordination.

In accordance with their duties, the Chief Minister gave departments such as Tourism, Municipal Corporation, Police, Water Police, Culture, Irrigation, PWD, Electricity, and Health special instructions to make all required preparations.

At all ghats during Dev Deepawali, officials were directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to make sure there was smart lighting, eye-catching floral arrangements, theme-based installations, and CCTV and drone surveillance. He directed that sufficient sanitation personnel be stationed at each location and noted that ghats, lanes, and important roads needed special attention in terms of cleanliness and aesthetics.

According to the Chief Minister, control rooms need to be open around-the-clock, and CCTV feeds from the command center must be regularly watched. He mandated the provision of enough drinking water, restrooms, medical assistance, and first-aid facilities for the convenience of the followers.

Emergency boats and ambulance services will be positioned close to the ghats to increase safety, and boatmen will get life jackets, registration tags, and route information.

CM Yogi also gave officials instructions to make sure that all arrangements show devotion, discipline, and grandeur appropriate for the festival as he observed preparations at important ghats, including as Namo Ghat, Raj Ghat, Rajendra Prasad Ghat, and Dashashwamedh Ghat.

According to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Kashi’s worldwide spiritual prominence should be reflected in the finest caliber of lamp decorations, visitor amenities, and safety precautions for Dev Deepawali 2025. According to him, the boatmen community, an integral element of Kashi’s heritage, contributes to the festival’s grandeur and needs complete cooperation and safety support to ensure that devotees can travel in safe boats.

A 25-minute laser and projection mapping show would be held three times a day at Chet Singh Ghat, according to the meeting, and the sandbank between Chet Singh Ghat and Kashi Vishwanath Ghat will be decorated with sand art installations. There will be a 10-minute green fireworks show in front of Kashi Vishwanath Dham Ghat, complete with laser and musical acts.

The celebrations should embody the ethos of “Clean Kashi, Green Kashi, Divine Kashi,” according to CM Yogi, who also stressed that sufficient lighting, accessibility, and cleanliness should be maintained from the ghats to the city streets. To ensure that there is no chaos or gridlock, he gave special attention to parking, barricading, shuttle services, electricity, traffic control, and medical facilities.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of local artists, schools, women’s organizations, voluntary organizations, and religious leaders actively participating in cultural events along the Ganga.

“Dev Deepawali should become a symbol of public cooperation, social harmony, and national pride,” he added, adding that Kashi is a celebration of faith, discipline, and inner strength rather than only religion. “The city’s sanctity, orderliness, and discipline should allow visitors to feel India’s eternal spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava,” he added.
