UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Kisan Pathshala 8.0 in Barabanki, highlighting natural farming, MSP transparency and income growth.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Rabi season’s Kisan Pathshala 8.0 during the esteemed Kisan Sammelan and Khilti Ki Baat field event conducted at Daulatpur village in Barabanki on Friday. In this program, Chief Minister Yogi engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the initiatives undertaken to promote agricultural development in Uttar Pradesh, including multi-crop cultivation, technological advancements, transparency in the MSP system, and efforts to enhance farmers’ income.

Progressive farmers were also honored during the program, and cheques and sanction letters were distributed to the beneficiaries of various initiatives. On this occasion, advancements in crop and vegetable varieties, agricultural tools, and innovations developed by FPOs were also observed. The advanced farming model of Daulatpur was presented as a source of inspiration for other districts within the province.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Mother Earth produces sustenance to nourish us. However, its health should also be maintained, and when health is excellent, not only humans but all of creation will be preserved. He stated that numerous programs are presently in progress.

The Chief Minister stated that the Prime Minister has advanced the initiative of the National Vision of Natural Farming as part of the same framework. He consistently asserts that the primary principle for increasing a farmer’s income is to lower costs while enhancing production. This is achievable if the Annadata farmer receives timely support in the form of seedlings, fertilizers, irrigation infrastructure, and scientific techniques.

Uttar Pradesh is the most populous province in the country, with a population of 25 crore residents. The government has facilitated an increase in production and a reduction in costs by providing essential facilities to producers, spanning from seed supply to market access. Swoil health cards, crop insurance, sugarcane payments, the expansion of agricultural mandis, and improvements in storage and processing facilities have provided significant benefits to producers.
The advantages of a transparent system and technological progress

According to Chief Minister Yogi, over the past eight years, farmers have been receiving MSP payments directly, thereby eliminating the involvement of intermediaries. In the irrigation sector, efforts to supply water to all fields, promote micro-irrigation, develop canal networks, utilize solar turbines, and enhance water conservation have been intensified.

Farmers have been associated with scientific approaches through the promotion of drone application, vegetation management, soil testing, and organic farming. He stated that initiatives such as food processing, refrigerated storage, logistics, digital mandi, and e-name to connect farmers with entrepreneurship have generated significant employment opportunities on a broad scale.

Farmers’ produce via expressways and logistics parks is now readily accessible to both domestic and international markets. Agricultural reforms have been expedited in 28 low-yield districts, notably in Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, through the UPAGris initiative over six years at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore, in partnership with the World Bank.

The Chief Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh comprises nine geographical and climatic zones, and efforts are underway to supply sophisticated seeds and technology tailored to each of these regions. The Chief Minister stated that, today, the record level of production and the implementation of a transparent system have provided a new impetus to the state’s progress compared to the period prior to 2017. The rate of agricultural growth has been elevated from 8.6% to 17.7%.

According to Chief Minister Yogi, the production of two hundred fifty quintals of potatoes and bananas worth two lakh rupees per acre exemplifies efficient utilization of resources with high yields. Cooperative agriculture is being enhanced through the establishment of FPOs. Padma Shri Ramsharan Verma and esteemed progressive farmers exemplify this transformation, with their success serving as an inspiration to other farmers within the state.

CM extends gratitude to progressive producers

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that, to comprehend the true challenges faced by farmers, a Kisan Pathshala has been organized at the property of progressive farmer Ramsharan Verma. The primary goal of this program is to enhance understanding of agricultural practices through field visits, to closely observe associated challenges, and to promote farmers’ well-being by achieving high yields at minimal costs.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the forward-thinking farmers and stated that their dedication and innovation have bestowed a new identity upon Uttar Pradesh within the agricultural sector. He also called upon all Annadata producers to undertake innovative initiatives within their respective regions to further enhance the quality of agricultural practices.

He stated that new experiments are underway in the agricultural sector and that producers can attain increased production at reduced costs through timely cultivation, the use of high-quality seeds, and appropriate management. The state’s territory is highly fertile, enabling farmers to utilize it more effectively through their technological expertise and management skills.

The Chief Minister stated that the double engine government places paramount importance on the welfare of the Annadata cultivators. Considering the vital contribution of cultivators in constructing a developed India, the government is offering comprehensive support to them. Small and marginal producers represent the true wealth of the state: Padma Shri Ramsharan Verma

Padma Shri Ramsharan Verma extended a cordial greeting to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and all the esteemed dignitaries, stating that the Chief Minister, accompanied by his cabinet ministers, has arrived at the farm to observe the farmers’ agricultural activities. He stated that the Chief Minister frequently refers to small and marginal farmers as the true wealth of the state and regards the enhancement of farmers’ income as the cornerstone of Uttar Pradesh’s development.

Verma expressed gratitude to the government for the facilities and grants extended to farmers and attributed the nation’s economic advancement to the efforts of the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He emphasized the importance of farmers aligning their practices with market demand, while IFFCO Chairman Dilip Sanghani highlighted the significance of enhancing rural prosperity through the integration of cooperatives with agriculture.

Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi stated that this marks the first occasion on which the Chief Minister of the state has addressed the cultivation practices of farmers directly in their fields, and this initiative is progressing towards a new phase under the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi. He stated that the land of the farmers in Daulatpur village is truly flourishing with prosperity, as the farmers here are not reliant on a single commodity but are cultivating a variety of crops, including bananas, potatoes, tomatoes, mustard, sugarcane, and wheat.

The implementation of multi-cropped farming practices and innovative technologies is facilitating the advancement of farmers, leading to accelerated transformations in the agricultural landscape of Uttar Pradesh. He stated that Barabanki is developing into a model district, and farmers should consider adopting the successful initiatives being implemented here in their respective districts and fields.

Shahi also emphasized that Prime Minister Modi advocates for doubling farmers’ income, and due to the policies implemented by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, farmers’ income is approaching three times its previous level.

The eighth iteration of Kisan Pathshala was officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath engaged with progressive farmers and also attended the exhibition, where he, along with Padma Shri Kisan Ramsharan Verma, examined the improved varieties of vegetables and agricultural products. Simultaneously, the Chief Minister inquired about numerous agricultural schemes.

During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed tractor keys to the farmers and also provided cheques and sanction letters to the beneficiaries of various initiatives. Pankaj Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Santosh Kumar Singh, Amit Mishra, Chandrashekhar Prajapati, Gurdutt Singh, Gurtej Singh, Dinesh Chandra Verma, Ram Iqbal Verma, Bablu Kashyap, and Padma Shri awardee farmer Ramsharan Verma were recognized among the progressive farmers.

Deshraj, Dinesh Pratap Singh, Dhirendra Verma, Ajay Kumar Verma, and Akhilesh Kumar were the benefactors who received cheques representing various categories of grants from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Chief Minister enumerated the achievement statistics.

• Uttar Pradesh is responsible for 35 percent of the wheat production, contributing 21 percent to the overall national foodgrain output.
• Uttar Pradesh alone constitutes 55 percent of the nation’s total sugarcane production. We have set the minimum support price (MSP) for sugarcane at Rs 400, thereby providing benefits to the farmers.
• Over the past eight years, payments to producers for sugarcane have exceeded Rs 2.92 lakh crore.
• There are 122 sugar mills currently operating within the jurisdiction.
• Uttar Pradesh holds the leading position in ethanol production. From 41 crore crore, 182 crore litres of ethanol are currently being produced within the state.
• There has also been an extraordinary rise in the cultivation of horticultural crops and other organic produce, including potato and plantain production, in Uttar Pradesh.
• Uttar Pradesh also holds the leading position in vegetable production.
• In Uttar Pradesh, the majority of farmers are receiving benefits from the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. 2.86 crore producers are gaining advantages from this initiative.
• In honor of Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh, a seed sanctuary is being established in Lucknow, serving as a facility to supply enhanced seeds.
• The process of establishing Krishi Vigyan Kendras within the state is also progressing. Many of these institutions also serve as centres of excellence.
