Punjab government gears up for 350th martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib with lakhs of devotees, grand events, tent cities & security.
As the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh, prepares to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, the holy city of Sri Anandpur Sahib is ready to receive lakhs of devotees who will travel to the city of bliss to pay their respects at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and take part in a number of events.
Enjoying the specifics After senior Cabinet Ministers performed Ardas at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib on October 25, followed by Kirtan Darbar at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, in which Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal participated, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains stated that the Punjab government, led by the Chief Minister, has initiated a series of events to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Similarly, Kirtan Samagam was staged at three locations in Baba Bakala, Amritsar, and Patiala, while Light and Sound Show was planned in all 23 districts around the state. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann participated in the November 19 Nagar Kirtan, which began in Gurdwara Chhevi Patchhahi in Srinagar. On November 22, it will travel via Jammu, Patankot, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, and Garshankar to Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib.
According to the Cabinet Minister, on November 22, another nagar kirtan on the Majha Doaba Route will begin at Gurdwara Sri Sangat Sar Pathwala, Gurdaspur, and travel through Batala, Baba Bakala Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Kapurthala, Kartarpur, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Banga, Nawanshehar, and Balachaur to arrive at Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib. In a similar vein, another nagar kirtan on the Malwa 1 Route will begin on November 20 at Qila Mubarak (Baba Shekh Farid Yadgari Asthaan), Faridkot, and travel through Ferozepur, Moga, Jagroan, Ludhiana, Khanna, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Morinda, Chamkaur Sahib, and Rupnagar before arriving at Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. Similarly, the Malwa 2 Route’s Nagar Kirtan will begin on November 20 at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabho, and go through Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Rajpura, Banur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Kurali, and Rupnagar before arriving at Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.

According to the Cabinet Minister, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries would attend the Sri Akhand Path Sahib arambh at Gurudwara Sahib near Baba Buddha Dal Chhauni on November 23. At the Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial, the Chief Minister will also open an exhibition about the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Prominent religious figures such as Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji, Dr. Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar (Jews), Bhikkhu Sanghsena Ji (Buddha), Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, Acharaya Dr. Lokesh Muni Ji (Jain), Rajyogi Dr. Binny Sareen Ji (Brahma Kumari), Haji Syed Salman Chisty Ji (Muslim), Mahant Gyandev Ji (Nirmal Akhada), Syed Afsar Ali Nizami (Muslim), Parampujya Muktanand Bapuji, and Mahant Sampurnanand Ji (Panchagni Akhada) are expected to participate.
According to the Cabinet Minister, Sheesh Bhent Nagar Kirtan will begin on November 24 at Kiratpur Sahib and end at Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial. A special Vidhan Sabha session will be held at Bhai Jaita ji memorial, and a heritage walk will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib (Gurudwara Bhora Sahib-Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib-Guru Teg Bahadur Museum-Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib-Kila Anandgarh Sahib and culmination at Virasat-e-Khalsa). Charan Ganga Stadium will host Gatka as well as other activities including Tent Pegging, Dhal-Talwar duel, Shastra Darshan, Simran, and Sword Fusion. Every day from November 23 to 29, the Virasat-e-Khalsa memorial will host the Drone Show.
The Cabinet Minister added that Sarbat Da Bhala Ikattarta will take place at the Main Pandaal of Baba Buddha Dal Chhauni on November 25 following Bhog of Sri Akhand Path sahib ji. In the meantime, thousands of devotees have arrived in the holy city to observe these ceremonies thanks to the state government’s intricate plans. In order to handle the significant volume of vehicles anticipated for the commemorations, an organized three-tier parking system (Category A, B, and C) has been developed.

According to the Cabinet Minister, Category B parking serves mid-distance locations with good shuttle connectivity, Category C parking serves as peripheral zones to avoid congestion near central venues, and Category A parking is closest to major congregation points, providing easy entry and exit. Every parking lot has CCTV, lights, barricading, traffic marshals, conspicuous signage, and portable restrooms. The proposal also incorporates existing parking spots around important places of worship and cultural significance.
According to the Cabinet Minister, a comprehensive shuttle transit arrangement has been put into place to guarantee the smooth flow of devotees from parking lots to important locations. 500 e-rickshaws, 150 minibuses, 25 Force Urbania vans, 15 sedans, 20 Tata Ace vehicles for support, and 10 golf carts for pilgrims with special needs and the elderly are all part of the deployed fleet. There will be constant shuttle service between parking lots and the main pandal, Tent Cities, Virasat-e-Khalsa, Gurudwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib, and help desks. With designated pick-up locations, signage, and volunteers directing traffic, the system will be watched over by the Integrated Control Center.
Cranes and recovery trucks have been placed strategically to manage breakdowns and guarantee continuous traffic flow, according to the cabinet minister. All visiting sangat will have access to safe, effective, and well-coordinated transportation thanks to the Parking and Shuttle Services Plan. The state government hopes to guarantee easy movement and a satisfying experience for all pilgrims attending the 350th martyrdom day commemorations by implementing segregated parking tiers, a large fleet of shuttles, and real-time surveillance.
According to the cabinet minister, Similarly, the District Administration of Rupnagar is establishing two major Tent Cities, Chak Nanki Niwas Tent City and Bhai Mati Das Niwas Tent City, which together can accommodate about 10,000 sangat, to accommodate the large influx of devotees during the events to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. These Tent Cities, which cover 81 acres, serve as the foundation of the event’s lodging strategy. With a combination of 4-bedroom apartments and 16-bedroom dormitory-style tents, the Tent Cities can accommodate 9,520 pilgrims.
According to the cabinet minister, the design guarantees crowd flow, accessibility, and closeness to the main gathering places. There will soon be two tent cities: Bhai Mati Das Niwas Tent City (Tent City-2) in Village Jhinjri on Kiratpur Sahib–Sri Anandpur Sahib Road and Chak Nanki Niwas Tent City (Tent City–1) in Village Chandesar on Garhshankar Sri Anandpur Sahib Road. To provide a secure and respectable stay for the visiting sangat, both Tent Cities are furnished with complete civic and comfort amenities.
High-speed Wi-Fi, designated restrooms and bathing facilities, continuous water supply, CCTV surveillance, Aam Aadmi Clinics (24-hour OPD, lab tests, medications), LED screens for real-time information, and internal roads with signage are some of the essential features of these tent cities, according to the cabinet minister. Health, sanitation, and safety are given special attention. Cleanliness and hygiene are ensured by daily fogging, disinfection, water sampling, and sanitation initiatives. Water tankers, bathing vans, mobile restrooms, and other items have been positioned at strategic locations.
Rapid medical response will be ensured via ambulance deployment, cooperation with the 24×7 Integrated Control Room, and other facilities. The Tent Cities will be connected to Gurudwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Virasat-e-Khalsa, main pandal areas, parking lots, and help desks by shuttle services, e-rickshaws, and other modes of transportation. The district-level Integrated Control Center will be used to track movement within the tent communities.

The 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be celebrated at Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Punjab Police has prepared elaborate plans for traffic control, security, and facilitation to ensure a seamless and safe event. It is anticipated that thousands of devotees from all over the world will attend the great anniversary celebrations, which will take place at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25, 2025. Foolproof security arrangements have been made to check any sort of untoward incidents during the commemorative events and to deftly maintain law and order.
A large-scale force of over 8,000 police personnel, under the supervision of senior rank officers, have been deployed to ensure the safety, orderly movement, and comfort of the devotees expected to visit. The security arrangements are heavily reliant on cutting-edge technology and a high-tech control room is being established, integrated with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), PTZ, and Facial Recognition Cameras at all entry and exit points of the city, complemented by surveillance drones. The entire area has been systematically divided into 25 sectors, each with its own sub-control room and help desk to ensure efficient management.
