Punjab : The Punjab government has officially launched the Smart Ration Card Scheme Punjab from today, aimed at easing the process of obtaining rations for over 40 lakh cardholders across the state. Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak provided details about the initiative, highlighting its benefits for the citizens.
Minister Kataruchak explained, “Previously, ration cardholders had to provide their Aadhaar number along with the ration card at depots, which often caused delays and wasted time. With the new Smart Ration Card Scheme Punjab, citizens will get relief from this hassle and enjoy a faster, more convenient process.”

The Smart Ration Card Scheme Punjab introduces a digital mechanism that streamlines ration distribution, minimizes paperwork, and ensures quicker verification at the depots. It also helps maintain accurate records and reduces errors in ration allocation.

“The launch of this scheme reflects the government’s focus on using technology to improve public services. The Smart Ration Card Scheme Punjab ensures convenience for all beneficiaries while promoting transparency in distribution,” added Minister Kataruchak.
