New appointments in Dairy Development Department
Chandigarh: Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian on Thursday handed over job letters to three newly appointed clerks in the Dairy Development Department.
With these appointments, the department has recruited a total of 52 employees since 2022. The recruitment drive includes 34 Inspector Grade-2 officers, eight clerks, five IT clerks, four stenotypists, and one driver. Officials said the additions will improve efficiency and enhance the department’s ability to serve farmers.
Congratulating the recruits, Khudian urged them to remain committed to honesty and hard work. He stressed that dedication and integrity are vital in public service, especially in departments linked to agriculture and rural livelihoods.
Boosting rural economy through dairy sector
The minister highlighted the importance of strengthening the Dairy Development Department for Punjab’s rural economy. Dairy farming is a vital source of income for thousands of farmers across the state.
Khudian said the department’s expansion will provide better technical support and services to farmers. This includes guidance on livestock management, milk production, and modern practices to boost income levels.
He emphasized that the government’s push for dairy and allied sectors aligns with the broader vision of uplifting the rural economy. According to him, empowering farmers through strong institutional support will help create sustainable growth in Punjab’s agriculture sector.
Punjab government’s youth employment drive
Khudian also highlighted the broader employment initiatives of the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government. He said that more than 55,000 government jobs have been provided to Punjab’s youth since the administration took office.
The minister underlined that the recruitment process was carried out with transparency and fairness, setting a precedent in public service appointments. He noted that empowering young people through secure government jobs is a top priority for the state.
The initiative reflects the government’s focus on tackling unemployment and building a skilled workforce. By filling vacancies across departments, the administration seeks to both strengthen governance and create opportunities for educated youth.
