Guru Ravidass Ji’s 649th Parkash Purb Marked with Grand Arrangements in Punjab

CM Bhagwant Mann, Cabinet join Sangat in historic state-level commemoration

Punjab  : Guru Ravidass Ji’s 649th Parkash Purb was observed with devotion and dignity as members of the Sant Samaj on Friday praised the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for making extensive and unprecedented arrangements.

Speaking at the state-level programme held at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, Sant Nirmal Das Ji Jaure Wale said the Guru Ravidass Ji Sadhu Samparda Society congratulates the Punjab government, especially the Chief Minister, for organising large-scale events to commemorate the Parkash Purb. He conveyed gratitude on behalf of the Sant Samaj for the comprehensive planning undertaken by the government to honour the occasion.

Sant Nirmal Das Ji recalled that Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji spent over four years in meditation and devotion at Khuralgarh, sanctifying the land. He said it was a moment of pride that the Punjab government is celebrating the 649th Parkash Purb at the same holy site with full reverence.

Sant Pradeep Das Ji of Dera Ballan described the event as historic, noting that on the auspicious occasion, the Chief Minister, along with the entire Cabinet and Members of Parliament, visited Sri Khuralgarh Sahib to pay obeisance. He also thanked the government for allotting 10 acres of land near Dera Ballan for the establishment of the Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Bani Adhyayan Kendra, calling it a significant step towards preserving the Guru’s teachings.

He further said that such initiatives would play an important role in carrying forward the spiritual and social legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji.

Punjab Launches Year-Long Events Ahead of Guru Ravidass Ji’s 650th Parkash Purb

Addressing the gathering, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has launched a year-long series of programmes to commemorate the upcoming 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji, with the celebrations formally beginning on Friday. He added that the Guru’s teachings would be disseminated across the state as part of these initiatives.

Cheema also informed that a Cabinet sub-committee has been constituted to oversee the programmes and said he would discharge his responsibilities as its head with full commitment.

Earlier, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond welcomed the gathering and reiterated the government’s resolve to preserve Punjab’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations.

Punjab Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Jai Kishan Rori expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for initiating the year-long commemorative events from Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, which falls within his Assembly constituency.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister and members of the Cabinet joined the Sangat in performing Ardas after the Bhog of Sri Akhand Paath Sahib and also paid obeisance at the Tap Asthan of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib.
