Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, speaking at the Infosys foundation-laying ceremony, highlighted ambitious plans that aim to transform Punjab into a leading IT and technology hub.
Major IT and Tech Developments in Punjab
Key initiatives unveiled include:
- Infosys Exhibition Center: A 13.5-acre facility will be developed to showcase innovations and host global technology events.
- Data Centers in Mohali: Two large-scale data centers will be established to support the state’s growing digital ecosystem.
- Tata Semiconductor Lab: The Tata Group will set up a cutting-edge semiconductor laboratory to bolster research and development.
- Enhanced Air Connectivity: Flight operations from Amritsar and Mohali will increase, improving accessibility for business and international travelers.
“These projects mark a historic milestone in Punjab IT growth,” Minister Arora said, adding that the state is committed to providing infrastructure and policy support for technology companies and startups.
