Sangrur tops Punjab’s 2025 paddy procurement with record arrivals and purchases, as CM Bhagwant Mann’s govt ensures smooth mandi operations.
In the current Paddy procurement season, Sangrur District has emerged as the top destination for both arrivals and purchases.
As promised, the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has successfully ensured a strong structure in the mandis to protect the interests of all stakeholders, including farmers, Arhtiyas, and laborers, throughout the procurement season.
A total of 15269488.62 LMT of produce—over 99 percent of the amount of 15376697.06 LMT of paddy that arrived in the mandis until November 11th—has been purchased. In terms of lifting, from the purchased crop, 13854981.49 MT have been lifted, exceeding the 90 percent threshold.
According to the arrival and procurement parameters, Sangrur has taken the top spots, with the arrival being at 1330792.77 MT and the procurement being at 1328302.88 MT. Bathinda has taken the second position in terms of both arrival and procurement, with an arrival figure of 1303454.28 MT and a procurement figure of 1253400.2 MT. Arrivals are 1120786.79 MT and procurement is 1120772.77 MT, placing the Patiala district in third place for both.
Sangrur is in second place with 1083766.01 MT, while Patiala has so far secured the top rank in lifting with 1087806.56 MT. As far as lifting goes, Bathinda is in third place with 1070364.39 MT.
