Chandigarh : Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today shared key updates on police hiring during a press conference, highlighting the progress of the ongoing Punjab Police Recruitment 2026 drive. The initiative aims to strengthen law enforcement and ensure adequate manpower across all police units in the state.
So far, a total of 12,197 appointments have been made under various cadres, reflecting a significant push under the Punjab Police Recruitment 2026 program:
- 1,062 Sub-Inspectors
- 450 Head Constables
- 10,285 Constables
- 400 Civilian Assistant Staff
The recruitment process is still underway for 1,746 Constables under the District & Armed Cadre-2025, while the advertisement for hiring 3,298 Constables under the District & Armed Cadre-2026 has already been released. These efforts underscore the Mann government’s commitment to modernizing the force and ensuring timely recruitment.

“Through the Punjab Police Recruitment 2026, we are not only filling critical vacancies but also creating a robust and capable police force ready to serve the people of Punjab effectively,” said Chief Minister Mann.

Officials emphasized that the Punjab Police Recruitment 2026 initiative is designed to improve operational efficiency, enhance public safety, and bring younger talent into policing. With new appointments across sub-inspector, head constable, and constable ranks, the state is strengthening its law enforcement infrastructure and preparedness.
The Punjab Police Recruitment 2026 program is part of a broader vision of the Mann government to modernize the police force, ensuring citizens have access to timely and effective policing services across urban and rural areas.
