Punjab Police raid 314 locations, arrest 69 drug smugglers, and seize heroin & psychoactive pills as part of CM Mann’s 265-day anti-drug campaign.

Punjab Police raided 314 locations on Friday, arresting 69 drug smugglers after filing 54 first information reports (FIRs) throughout the state as part of the ongoing ” Yudh Nashian Virudh ” campaign against drugs, which Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been waging for the 265th day in a row to eradicate the drug menace from the state. As a result, in 265 days, 37,470 drug smugglers have been caught overall.

765 psychoactive pills and 1.03 kg of heroin were found in the custody of drug smugglers who were arrested as a result of the operations.

Interestingly, the chief minister has requested that the commissioners, deputy commissioners, and senior superintendents of police make Punjab a drug-free state. To oversee the fight against narcotics, the Punjabi government has also established a five-member Cabinet Subcommittee, which is chaired by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.

Under the direction of 65 gazetted officers, more than 120 police teams with a combined force of over 900 policemen have carried out 314 raids around the state. During the course of the day-long operation, police teams have also checked up to 334 suspected individuals.

The Punjab Police, as part of its “De-addiction” campaign, persuaded 17 people to receive de-addiction and rehabilitation therapy today as part of the state government’s three-pronged approach to eradicate drugs from the state: Enforcement, Drug Abuse, and Prevention (EDP).
