Punjab launches “Sade Buzurg Sada Maan” campaign for senior citizens with free health check-ups, social security services, and assistive devices.
The Punjab Government has announced the full state-level schedule for its flagship senior citizens’ welfare initiative, “Sade Buzurg Sada Maan”, under which special health check-up camps will be held in all districts of the state until February 18, 2026. The campaign, formally launched on January 16 in Mohali, aims to ensure accessible healthcare, social security, and dignity for the elderly.
Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that under the State Action Plan for Senior Citizens, a total of ₹7.86 crore will be allocated during the financial year 2025–26 to provide comprehensive health services, awareness programs, and essential facilities for senior citizens across Punjab.
Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that the campaign reflects the people-centric approach of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, emphasizing a safe, healthy, and dignified life for the elderly.
The Minister shared the district-wise schedule for the health camps: starting with Sri Muktsar Sahib and Fazilka on February 2, followed by Bathinda and Mansa on February 3, Ludhiana on February 4, Moga and Ferozepur on February 5, Amritsar and Tarn Taran on February 6, and Faridkot on February 9.

Other districts include Patiala on February 10; Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib on February 11; SBS Nagar and Hoshiarpur on February 12; Barnala and Malerkotla on February 13; Jalandhar and Kapurthala on February 16; Gurdaspur and Pathankot on February 17; and Sangrur on February 18, 2026.
During these camps, senior citizens will receive free geriatric check-ups, ENT examinations, eye check-ups, and cataract surgeries by specialist doctors. Services for Senior Citizen Cards, old-age pension applications, and other social security benefits will also be provided.
The Minister added that ALIMCO will distribute assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and near-vision glasses free of cost, while the District Legal Services Authority will offer legal awareness sessions under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that senior citizens receive not only welfare benefits but also care, respect, and social security. She urged the people of Punjab to encourage senior citizens in their families and communities to attend these health and awareness camps and benefit from the services provided, helping them lead healthier and dignified lives
