Punjab Government promotes IAS officers Ghanshyam Thori, Kumar Amit, and Vimal Kumar Setia to Supertime Scale / Level 14 effective Jan 1, 2026.
The Punjab Government has promoted three senior IAS officers of the 2010 batch—Ghanshyam Thori, Kumar Amit, and Vimal Kumar Setia—to the Supertime Scale / Level 14 in the Indian Administrative Service pay matrix, effective from January 1, 2026.
An official spokesperson of the Punjab Government confirmed that the promoted officers will now be designated as Secretaries to the Government of Punjab. Despite their elevation, the officers will continue to serve in their current postings in the higher scale until further orders.
This move highlights the state government’s commitment to recognizing merit and promoting capable IAS officers to senior-level administrative positions. With this promotion, the officers are expected to take on greater responsibilities in shaping governance and implementing key policies in Punjab.
