Punjab Govt extends Amnesty Policy 2025 for defaulting housing plot allottees. Apply by March 31, 2026, for relief on dues and construction charges.
Hardeep Singh Mundian, the minister of housing and urban development for Punjab, stated on Tuesday that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Mann, has taken a significant step in favor of the people by authorizing the extension of the Amnesty Policy 2025, which will provide significant assistance to allottees of defaulting plots throughout Punjab.
According to the Cabinet Minister, the extension of Amnesty Policy 2025 for granted and auctioned sites under various Housing and Urban Development Department programs has been agreed by the Cabinet. This ruling will give Development Authorities’ defaulting allottees a further chance to apply under the scheme through March 31, 2026. Applications must be filed on or before the updated deadline, and qualified candidates must deposit the required sum within three months of the relevant Development Authority’s approval date.

The Cabinet Minister explained the decision’s public-centered objective by saying, “The Mann Government is focused on resolving long-pending housing related issues of common people.” The policy extension gives a number of families and institutions a realistic opportunity to regularize their assets and proceed, since they were struggling with accrued dues and procedural delays.
“This is a people-friendly decision taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann,” the Cabinet Minister stated, adding that allottees who were unable to finish construction or deposit installments on time were given a fair chance to make amends and obtain more time. He encouraged everyone who will be impacted to take advantage of this program during the allotted time.
Mundian added that non-construction charges would be remitted by 50% under the Amnesty Policy 2025, and that failing allottees could pay unpaid balances in full, along with scheme interest, without incurring penalties. An extension fee equal to 2.5 percent of the allotment or auction price will be assessed for institutional sites, hospital sites, and industrial plots allotted in IT City SAS Nagar or other Development Authorities’ schemes. Additionally, a three-year period will be permitted to fulfill allotment requirements, including construction. Those who failed to finish construction within the allotted time or who fell behind on payments due after December 31, 2013, are eligible for the program.
