CHANDIGARH — The Punjab government has taken another step towards promoting self-reliance among the state’s underprivileged sections. Cabinet Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, distributed 15 auto e-rickshaws to economically weaker and divyang individuals in her Malout constituency.
The initiative, part of the state government’s self-employment programme, aims to provide sustainable livelihoods to those struggling for financial independence. Speaking at the event, Dr. Kaur said the distribution reflects the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who has committed to empowering marginalized communities across Punjab.
“These e-rickshaws are not just vehicles, they are a new beginning. They will empower the beneficiaries, instill confidence, and enable them to live with dignity,” Dr. Kaur said.
