Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema plans uniform service rules for ministerial staff to ensure fairness, equity, and transparency.
Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, who is also the Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Employees’ Issues, took a step to address the long-standing concerns of the Ministerial Services Cadre. He stated that the Cabinet Sub-Committee would suggest to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann that an Officers’ Committee be formed to investigate the possibility of creating uniform service rules for the Ministerial Services Cadre across various departments in order to bring uniformity to these employees’ working conditions and eliminate any disparities that may currently exist.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema promised union delegates during a meeting with the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union that a number of their demands are now being processed. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to responsive and open governance by promising that other valid issues will be immediately handled.
Three unions from the Education Department—the Master Cadre Union, the Elementary Teachers Union, and the Murh Bahal Kachhe Adhiyapak Union—met with the Finance Minister in a series of follow-up sessions. These conversations focused on important topics including salary scales, career advancement, and paid time off. In order to address other valid issues, Finance Minister Cheema urged senior officials to meet with union representatives on a regular basis and instructed the Education Department to accelerate the resolution of demands now under evaluation.
The Punjab Police Corona Warriors Union representatives also met with the finance minister. He listened to their concerns with compassion and promised to take their requests into consideration. He underlined that the government is unwavering in its determination to resolve sincere complaints and promote an atmosphere at work that is based on accountability, respect, and equity.
The Punjab State Ministerial Services Union’s Gurnam Singh Virk, Tarsem Bhathal, and Anirudh Modgul; the Master Cadre Union’s Baljinder Singh Dhaliwal, Gurmeet Singh Bhullar, Daljit Singh Sabarwal, and Amarbir Singh; the Elementary Teachers Union’s Harjinderpal Singh Pannu, Satbir Singh Rauni, Harkrishan Singh Mohali, and Gurinder Singh Ghullewali; the Murh Bahal Kachhe Adhiyapak Union’s Vikas Sahini, Lakhwinder Kaur, and Amandeep Kaur; and the Punjab Police Corona Warriors Union’s Amarjit Singh, Gurbaj Singh, Pawanbir Singh, and Jagroop Singh were among those who voiced their demands and concerns.
