The achievement was highlighted by the Aam Aadmi Party Punjab, crediting the state government’s education-focused initiatives.

The Punjab education revolution has transformed the state’s education system, with Punjab improving its ranking from the 27th position in 2020 to the top position in the country. The progress reflects the impact of policy decisions aimed at improving teaching quality, infrastructure, and student learning outcomes.

The Punjab government has focused on strengthening schools through improved teaching techniques, regular teacher training programmes, and measures to enhance students’ academic performance.

Female Teachers Strengthen Punjab’s Education System

A major factor behind Punjab’s educational progress is the strong presence of women teachers in government schools. According to the information shared by AAP Punjab, more than 2.12 lakh female teachers are working in the state’s schools, making up around 77% of the total teaching workforce.
