CM Bhagwant Mann Prays at Gurudwara Katalgarh Sahib
Chamkaur Sahib (Ropar), August 2 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann visited the historic Gurudwara Sri Katalgarh Sahib on Saturday, where he offered prayers and sought divine blessings for peace, progress, and prosperity in the state.
Describing the moment as spiritually uplifting, Mann emphasized the need to strengthen Punjab’s heritage of communal harmony, brotherhood, and peace. He said the teachings of the Sikh Gurus continue to guide his administration’s path toward inclusive governance and rapid development.
“I feel blessed to serve the people of Punjab. Our goal is to lead India in every sector while preserving our rich cultural and spiritual legacy,” Mann said after the prayer.
Commitment to Spiritual and Historical Heritage
The Chief Minister underscored the spiritual and historical significance of Chamkaur Sahib—the battleground where the Sahibzadas (sons) of Guru Gobind Singh Ji attained martyrdom. Mann called the visit a “divine experience” and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to developing the area holistically.
He announced that detailed planning for the site’s development has already been completed. Implementation, he said, would soon begin.
“We are duty-bound to preserve and uplift this sacred land. Every possible effort will be made to enhance its infrastructure while maintaining its spiritual sanctity,” Mann added.
Land Pooling for Planned Development
Addressing media queries, the Chief Minister also spoke about Punjab’s new Land Pooling Policy, aimed at promoting planned and sustainable development across the state.
He clarified that this policy was developed through consultation with stakeholders, including farmers and local communities. Mann assured the public that the government would prioritize feedback and transparency in the execution of this policy.
“This is a people’s government. Every policy, including land development, is based on public interest and inclusive consultation,” he stated.
The land pooling model is expected to streamline urban growth, reduce haphazard construction, and encourage equitable development across regions.
CM Slams Past Political Patronage of Criminals
In response to a separate query, Bhagwant Mann made strong remarks against the Congress party, alleging that its leaders patronized gangsters in the past, allowing criminal networks to grow unchecked in Punjab.
He said these leaders are now facing threats from the same elements they once supported, highlighting the consequences of their politically motivated misdeeds.
“Their families now face the dangers they helped nurture. It’s a harsh reminder of what happens when public office is misused for personal gain,” Mann stated.
The Chief Minister reiterated that his government is working diligently to dismantle gangster networks and restore a sense of safety and rule of law across Punjab.
Devotion, Development, and Determination
CM Mann concluded his visit by reiterating that Waheguru’s blessings, along with the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, will continue to guide Punjab toward peace and prosperity. He reaffirmed that spiritual values and inclusive progress will remain the twin pillars of his governance model.
The visit to Gurudwara Sri Katalgarh Sahib comes at a critical time as the government accelerates its efforts to modernize infrastructure while respecting Punjab’s deep-rooted spiritual traditions.
