Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann leads delegation to Japan & South Korea to boost investments, engage MNCs, and promote the 2026 Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit.
In advance of the 6th Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit, which is set to take place at the ISB Mohali campus from March 13–15, 2026, a high-level delegation of the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will set out on a high-level international outreach mission in the first week of December to Japan and South Korea as partners of its global engagement.
Along with Senior State Government Officials and the Invest Punjab team, the delegation, led by the Chief Minister and accompanied by Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, will travel to Tokyo from December 2–3, Osaka from December 4–5, and Seoul from December 8–9 in order to fortify economic ties, engage with multinational corporations, and personally invite people to the next Summit. With the assistance and support of the Embassies of Japan and South Korea in New Delhi, whose direction, cooperation, and partnership have been crucial in forming the outreach agenda, the visit, meetings, and roadshow programs are being planned in close coordination with the Indian Embassy in South Korea, the Indian Embassy in Japan, the Ministry of External Affairs, and DPIIT’s Invest India.
The state will highlight Punjab’s strategic location, easy access to the National Capital Region and major ports, robust industrial clusters, consistent, high-quality power supply, skilled workforce, and forward-thinking policy ecosystem as reasons why Punjab is North India’s top investment destination during the visit. Additionally, the delegation will discuss the state’s regulatory and governance reforms, such as the FastTrack Punjab single-window system that offers more than 173 G2B services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers, and modifications to the Punjab Right to Business Act that allow for time-bound in-principle approvals. The outreach will also highlight Punjab’s industrial infrastructure, including as plug-and-play parks and the soon-to-be Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) Rajpura. It will also emphasize that Invest Punjab has already supported over 1.4 lakh crore in on-ground investments.
The Chief Minister, meanwhile, stated that the goal is straightforward: to establish Punjab as a destination of choice for international industry by providing policy stability, quick decision-making, and a governance structure that values investors’ time and confidence. According to him, Punjab’s strategy is built on collaboration and close industry relations, understanding their demands and making sure the government acts as a growth-enabling agent. Punjab improves its industrial capacity, fortifies its infrastructure, and creates new investment opportunities, according to S. Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The state government is adamant that industrial progress can only be attained when we operate as equal partners, according to the Chief Minister, who stated that collaboration between the government and business is essential to success. According to him, this idea serves as the foundation for our New Industrial Policy, which was unveiled in 2022 and was developed in collaboration with stakeholders and leaders in the sector to meet their requirements and goals. According to S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state administration has established 24 sectoral committees to develop sector-specific policies, with the captains of industry serving as their chairs.
The delegation hopes to establish Punjab as an attractive location for South Korean and Japanese businesses in the fields of electronics, ESDM, automotive components, food processing, chemicals, green energy, IT, semiconductors, textiles, advanced manufacturing, and mobility through a number of roadshows, one-on-one business meetings, and contacts with significant international organizations and corporations. Deeper commercial linkages, joint ventures, technology exchanges, and supply-chain integration will be made possible by these engagements, which have been organized with the assistance of Indian missions and partner institutions in South Korea and Japan. In order to fortify cultural and communal ties with the Indian-origin populace, the delegation will also engage in diaspora engagements in Seoul, Osaka, and Tokyo.
The Government of Punjab has already organized important engagements such as the Japan–Punjab Investment Roundtable, the GCC Roundtable, and the CIS Roundtable in New Delhi as part of its national and international pre-summit outreach, which has sparked intense interest from diplomats and business worldwide. In order to communicate the state’s vision, investment-ready possibilities, and value proposition for the 2026 Summit, Punjab has also held domestic roadshows in key Indian cities like Gurugram, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. These roadshows have involved sectoral bodies, MSMEs, and large corporations.

Bhagwant Singh Mann continued.
Through this visit, the Punjabi government hopes to promote international industry leaders to attend the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026 as partner nations, exhibitors, and knowledge contributors; expand industrial partnerships; and investigate new opportunities for joint ventures, technology transfer, and research-driven collaboration.
