Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann gave appointment letters to 858 government recruits, highlighting merit-based hiring and support for youth and farmers

New Delhi: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann formally gave appointment letters to 858 people across a number of government agencies. This group, which consists of 50 female health workers and 73 medical officers, represents their formal incorporation into the Punjab government service.

In his remarks, CM Mann welcomed the recruits and their families, emphasizing that the state government had offered 56,856 government positions since March 16, 2022, via an open, merit-based hiring procedure.

He said that the hiring process was free of bribery, suggestions, or lobbying, which had boosted youth trust and stopped Punjab’s brain drain tendency.

Mann stressed that government school pupils are now performing exceptionally well on national-level tests like JEE and NEET thanks to the ‘School of Eminence’ project, and he praised the Health Department and Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh for their efforts.

He added that “Punjab’s youth are capable and deserving — all they ever needed was a fair chance.” He claimed that the state is full with talented people. AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann attended the ‘Kisan Maha-Panchayat’ in Sudamada, Gujarat, earlier on Friday.

Speaking to the panchayat, Bhagwant Mann said that Punjabi farmers were neglected and that they were not compensated for crop losses. He also said that the AAP would support farmers in any situation where injustice takes place.

The AAP is a secular party that was formed from a large-scale movement. Here, farmers are the victims of crimes. I’m from a state that is focused on agriculture. I am aware of the defamation of farmers. Punjabi farmers are being disparaged for burning their stubble. However, no one speaks up when corn, wheat, mustard, pearl millet, paddy, and wheat are purchased,” he claimed.

“A natural disaster recently struck Punjab, causing damage to 5 lakh acres of farmers’ land. Livestock and homes suffered damage. As compensation, PM Modi announced Rs 1600 crores. However, 50 days have passed since the PM’s visit, and we still haven’t received a single penny. Wherever there are atrocities, the AAP will arrive. We are here to help Gujarati farmers. We’ll speak with them and give them a voice,” the chief minister of Punjab continued.
