Punjab BACKFINCO offers low-interest loans to backward classes and minority communities for self-employment and higher education opportunities.

The Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (BACKFINCO) provides low-interest loans to individuals from backward classes, economically weaker sections, and minority communities to help them start self-employment ventures or pursue higher education in India and abroad.

Sandeep Saini, Chairman of BACKFINCO, said that the Punjab Government is actively working to promote the welfare and upliftment of backward classes, minority groups, and economically disadvantaged sections of society

He highlighted that under the National Minorities Development (NMD) Scheme, during the financial year 2025–26 (April 1 to December 31, 2025), BACKFINCO provided loans totaling ₹8.25 crore to 256 beneficiaries from minority communities in Punjab, including Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Buddhists, and Jains.

Saini appealed to the youth of Punjab from backward classes, minority communities, and economically weaker sections to reach out to BACKFINCO and avail these opportunities to establish self-employment initiatives and advance their education.
